Jacksonville Honors Creator of Beekman Native Plant Arboretum

JWA's president, Larry Smith, honoring long time board member, Alan Horobin for his vision in creating the Beekman Native Plant Arboretum during April's Hike-A-Thon cememony. Carol Horobin assisted Alan with the unveiling of the commemorative plaque.

Students from across America gathered along Jackson Creek this summer to sharpen their gold panning skills. The event was sponsored by SOU and the JWA as part of the Association's ongoing educational activities. A few flakes were found, but nobody got rich.

A large crowd of JWA supporters joined Mr. & Mrs. Beekman at the Beekman Native Plant Arboretum last April to honor horticulturist visionary Alan Horobin.

Eagle Scout candidate, Jared Sharp, directs his crew in the placement of cribbing along the Sarah Zigler Trail. Jared's trail work has made the Zigler Trail safe from further erosion.
